In March 2007 Adactus, as part of the Renaissance Consortium, took over the neighbourhood management of the Miles Platting estate.Adactus are playing their part in the biggest PFI in the UK and in addition to general housing management issues have a team dedicated to resident involvement and social regeneration.
The two key priorities for the team have this far been to:
i)Encourage a greater level of participation, both informally and formally, by local residents in the affairs of Miles Platting.
·We aim to re-establish a number of folded residents groups and to encourage the growth of new groups.
·We will establish informal networks of residents who wish to work with us on projects that they see as beneficial to the community.
·We will recruit estate wide, and with open invitation, for Miles Platting Focus to give us feedback on our performance and identify improvements that could be made to our service.
ii)Work with a range of other agencies to deliver sustainable regeneration projects
·We aim to lead on a range of initiatives that have a lasting impact on the residents of Miles Platting.
·We support any projects that are already ongoing in Miles Platting, for example youth activities and voluntary groups.
·We aim to recruit active residents, through Miles Platting Focus and residents groups, to guide us on which projects will be of the greatest benefit to the community.
We are always keen to hear from residents about how we can improve our service and about how we can help to improve the area in which they live.
